Greg Keys is a lifelong athlete who competed in collegiate level football and track and field where he earned a total of seven varsity letters. He placed in the 60 meter hurdles in the Mid American Conference in 2006 (2nd), 2007 (4th), and 2009 (3rd). He is still in the Top Ten all time at Kent State University in the 60 meter (indoor) and 110 meter (outdoor) hurdles. At Bellevue High School in Ohio he still holds several records in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles, the 4×100 and 4×200 meter relays, along with being a 9 time State placer and Individual State Champion. He obtained his BS in Sport Administration with a minor in business and MA in Sport and Recreational Management from Kent State University. Greg has held a variety of coaching positions in football and has worked as a strength and conditioning specialist at many local high schools. He has worked as a Life Skills Coordinator at Kent State University and has a special interest in both the mental and physical development of young athletes.
April Bigelow completed her first Ironman at the age of 41. Although she grew up as a swimmer, her journey through fitness and sport was more of an evolution. She has a wide variety of athletic interests including swimming, soccer, powerlifting, cycling, running, strength training, and triathlon. She has competed a variety of running races (5K to half-marathons), century bike rides, and triathlons at every distance. Her athletic endeavors and interest in fitness and wellness tie in with her professional activities. As a clinical associate professor of nursing at the University of Michigan, she has a passion for not only health promotion, but also education and personal coaching. In 2017 she successfully coached six people to complete their first full Ironman triathlon including the development of individual nutrition and fueling plans. She obtained her BSN, MS, and PhD in Nursing from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, is board certified as an adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner, and has a certificate as a Specialist in Sports Nutrition through the International Sports and Sciences Association. She uses her personal experience and formal education to develop plans that are individualized to one’s goals while still keeping it challenging. Her enthusiasm for fitness, nutrition, and science compliment her personal commitment to guide athletes to achieve Growth, Resilience, Integrity, and Toughness.
