A chance meeting at a gym in 2015 lead to a friendship and partnership. Greg and April teamed up to develop workouts and activities for their group that drew on both of their strengths. With similar work ethics, values, and goals, they decided to take things to the next level. Looking to draw on both of their backgrounds and passions, GRIT was formed with the overall goals of athlete development, personal mentorship, community engagement, and outreach. Greg moved from organized sport strength and conditioning to individual and small group training in an effort to focus more on overall athlete development and is working toward certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. April completed her certification in Sports Nutrition and began doing individual nutrition counseling, plan development, and triathlon programming. In 2017, Greg and April formally founded GRIT. GRIT stands for Growth, Resilience, Integrity, and Toughness. Together Greg and April look to work with athletes of all levels to promote not only individual athletic progress and physical and mental growth, but also the overall values of GRIT that lead to success. Greg and April look to role model the GRIT lifestyle of discipline, determination, persistence, and passion. Through consistent work and perseverance, all athletes, regardless of age or fitness level, have the potential for GRIT.
